Image: Gregor Zivić

Gregor Zivić, born 1965 in Vienna (Austria), lives and works in Vienna. From a wish to transform his paintings into something else, Zivić started photographing them in staged locations or integrating them in invented exhibition posters. The results are narrative shots from extreme perspectives that mostly include Zivić himself or a look-alike doll. Often alluding to memories of his childhood, his scenarios play with the idea of pictorial representation and simulation. Zivić's work has been exhibited in the Kunsthalle Bern/CH, Salzburger Kunstverein/A, Manifesta 3/SLO, Museum Moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig/A, Miró Foundation Barcelona/E, 5. Foto-Triennale Esslingen, Kunsthalle Wien/A, Kunsthaus Bregenz/A, Wiener Secession/A, Kunstmuseum Solothurn/CH.

Bernhard Fuchs, born 1971 in Haslach an der Mühl (Austria), studied photography at the Düsseldorf Academy of Arts and College for Graphic Arts (Academy for Visual Arts, Leipzig) in Leipzig. His work is inspired by American and German documentary photography. Fuchs works in series, taking several years to complete each programme. In his portrait series he photographed people from the region he grew up in (Mühlviertel, Austria) and people from Leipzig and Düsseldorf (Germany) in their everyday surroundings. In his second series he took pictures of parked cars, which, in their turned-off and abandoned state, create a loaded but somehow peaceful atmosphere. Most recently he documented roads and paths in the Mühlviertel. A book was produced along with each series. His work has been exhibited in the Folkwang Museum, Essen (Germany); in the Ludwig Museum, Köln (Germany) and in the Landesgalerie Linz (Austria). He lives in Düsseldorf (Germany).

Fabrics Interseason focus on coded surfaces in their artistic output. For Mühlbauer’s Spring/Summer 2010 hat series it is the material “Viennese Mesh” (Wiener Gefelcht) that they (de)construct. This occurs in the context “Fashion” as well as in the neighbouring field of interior architecture/interior design. Fabrics interseason is occupied with the contemporary reform of a classic, bourgeois / middle-class Viennese modernity. Subsequently about dominant design.
