Typical for the Mühlbauer classic Bodo is a narrow brim turned upwards around the edge. This hat is known as a porkpie because it is reminiscent of an upside-down pork-pie. The hat is made of fine and elastic abaca straw braid. Abaca, also known as Manila hemp, is a plant local to East Asia and a member of the banana family. The abaca braid is stitched into a raw hat cone and this is then shaped. The hat is decorated with a narrow, bi-coloured grosgrain ribbon including bow. This hat is mainly worn by men.
