The legendary Mühlbauer hat Karl is a narrow brimmed gentleman’s shape, known as a trilby. Trilby is the name of the heroine in a novelette by the British author George du Maurier (around 1890), who wore a hat of this shape. Here Karl is made of beaver felt, the emperor of all felts. The finest, softest and most compact hat felts are made of 100% beaver hair - a quality that cannot be surpassed in comfort and handling. The hat is decorated with a silk grosgrain ribbon. On the left side of the hat the ribbon’s ends are tied into a special bow, unique to Mühlbauer - the "Mühlbauer Bow". Karl is worn by men and women. This hat’s most famous advocate is Brad Pitt.
