HOOD

A hood is a head covering that protects the head, neck, and sometimes the face from cold, wind, and rain. Hoods are often attached to jackets or sweaters and have gained popularity as “hoodies.” Hoods are also seen as part of traditional costumes, religious vestments, or official attire. In most cases, however, hoods are simply a fashion accessory.
