BERET
The beret, also known as a basque cap, is a brimless head covering whose volume extends well beyond the head. It originated in the Pyrenees, from where it spread to the neighbouring Basque Country and then worldwide. It is made from a wide variety of materials. The beret is recognised as headwear for Christian clergy or the military. In the 20th century, the beret became the headwear of choice for many artists and found a variety of expressions in fashion.
