The legendary Mühlbauer hat “Karl” is a trilby. The narrow-brimmed gentleman’s shape trilby takes its name from the heroine in a novel by English author George du Maurier (around 1890), who wore a hat in this style. This hat is made of Panama straw (weave: 20-24 knots/cm²). The high-quality straw makes this hat particularly elegant. Panama is one of the last hand-woven straw materials in the world. It is made from the leaf fibres of a palm tree and comes from Ecuador. This hat is decorated with a striped grosgrain ribbon and knot. Karl is worn by men and women.
