FEDORA

Fedora is another name for the classic men's hat, recognizable by its crease in the crown and a wide, slightly upturned brim. The name is borrowed from the 1882 play “Fédora” by French writer Victorien Sardou. The heroine of the play, Princess Fedora Romanoff, wore such a hat. The fedora has been one of the most popular hat styles since the beginning of the 20th century. It became famous during the Prohibition era in America and in Hollywood in the 1940s. To this day, the fedora remains very popular with both men and women.
